Two years after treatment the patient showed no residual neurological
deficit except for slight memory disturbances. A cerebral MRI
showed resolution of the confluent supra- and infratentorial white
matter lesions (Fig. A, C, D). Trypanosome-specific antibodieswere no
longer detectable in the serum. Findings of CSF analysis during followup
are shown in Fig. 1G.
