I ordered a couple burgers and a couple large fries. At the window one of the fries were missing. Mentioned to the girl one of the fries were missing and she said "You only ordered one.". I insisted I ordered two and she said "Well she (referring to the cashier) only heard one and you were only charged for one."
I insisted that I did order two large fries and were charged for both at which she asked if I had a receipt to prove it and if so to see it, bang two large fries right on the slip. She then says "Oh, I'll go put one in a separate bag." and returns with one and tells me to "have a nice day".
Is this what would be considered an acceptable experience?
I remarked that I could have gotten all the way home before noticing it to which she said "It was a minor mistake."
I talked to a friend who used to know someone who works at McD and he was appalled that a free meal was not offered for the trouble and said it was standard policy. I don't know anything about that.
Is it policy, should I have raised a stink over this, am I overreacting?
Thanks for any feedback!
