## The role
Pact is on a mission to upgrade the world’s coffee, saving 10 million mornings and thousands of lives in the process. We’re looking for a Head Roaster ready to take on the challenge of delivering perfect roast profiles in a high pressure environment with fast turnover of individual coffees.
This role will see you working in one of Time Out’s top 5 most fun London offices. You’ll be responsible for roastery management inclusive of roast team scheduling, daily quality control procedure, roast profiling, sample roasting, roaster maintenance, as well as helping with quality analysis protocol development and new product development. We’re a small team and that means flexibility is key, we all expect to participate in all areas of the business, an eagerness to learn is essential.
The Head Roaster will work closely with Head of Coffee in roast profile development as well as quality control assurance and the company's education program.
## Where you’ll affect change
You’ll be responsible for the final steps in finishing a product that has been lovingly produced and processed over a year and ensuring that when it arrives with our community it is as easy as possible to taste it's full potential. Our start-up environment means you’ll be adapting to new challenges all the time and constantly developing. You’ll take ownership of identifying and developing areas of quality improvement within the roastery.
## What you’ll bring
We’re looking for
-At least 1-2 year’s experience of roasting and roast profile development.
-Strong leadership and management skills.
-Regular cupping experience.
-Sample roasting ability.
-Good coffee knowledge with a desire to constantly learn.
- A driven individual eager to get shit done
-Proficient at recording and analysing data using spreadsheet software
-Experience using Cropster software would be ideal
-You must be eligible to work in the UK
