( The movie Annabelle doll on the left and the real one on the right.)
According to best horror movies site and the warners site, In 1970, Donna – 28 – received a Raggedy Ann doll from her mother as a birthday present. Donna was staying in an apartment in New York with her roommate Angie, but later both of them claimed that the doll seemed to move on its own!.as they noticed that it would spontaneously change positions and after a few weeks they began finding the doll in other rooms than the one it was left in. Several times both of them would confirm that the doll was on the couch, but return to find it on Donna’s bed. They also began finding “help us” notes that seemed to be written by a small child.
So both Donna and Angie asked for a medium help After finding what appeared to be blood on the doll, the two roommates hired a local medium.
The medium claimed to have made contact with the spirit in the doll – Annabelle Higgins, who died at the tender age of seven in so Annabelle’s story relieved Donna and Angie, who wanted their young guest to feel ‘welcome’.
But later, Donna, Angie and Angie’s boyfriend – Lou – claimed that the doll became more aggressive and violent as it tried to strangle and attack Donna’s friend Lou. As While Lou was sleeping in the apartment one night, he had a very vivid dream in which the doll attempted to strangle him while he lay in bed – paralyzed. The next morning he awoke without any sign of disturbance. Then, while Donna was out, Lou heard noises in her room. So he went to the room, but only found the doll lying on the floor.
Then, his chest felt like it was on fire and he looked down to see a pool of blood soaking into his shirt. After pulling it off, he discovered seven scratch marks. They healed quickly and a few days later there was no sign Lou had ever been scratched.
Donna contacted Father Hegen – an Episcopal priest. After hearing their story, Father Hegen alerted Father Cooke – a priest with experience in exorcism. He, in turn, called the paranormal experts, Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens interviewed the roommates and concluded that a demon of sorts was manipulating the doll in order to get closer to one of them and ultimately possess that person. Father Cooke performed an exorcism of the apartment and the Warrens took possession of the doll.
