Before you go camping, you need to decide how long you are going for and what kind of camp you want it to be. There are two main types of camp, called standing and lightweight camps.
A standing camp is one in which you pitch your tent on one site for the whole camp. The position of the site is particularly important as the camp will be a base from which to go out for day trips. When you first go camping, it is bast to start with short standing camps to get experience. If you go for a weekend you can easily take with you all the food and clothing you will need.
A longer camp needs more planning washing clothes, and if you are not camping near shops, you will need a larger store of food. You will also need to make proper toilet facilities and to think about what you will do with rubbish.
