The scope of marketing and sales department activities has continued to increase in recent years. While the traditional emphasis has been and especially in large properties. The marketing and sales department may perform additional roles beyond sales. The sale staff, along with the reservationists and telemarketers, are usually the first contact for many individuals with a hotel. The sales staff is the main hotel contact point for meeting planners, conventions, and corporate executives who are not familiar with the hotel, many be formed entirely by the appearance, bearing, and conduct of the sales staff.
