She had venous ulcers of long standing but now there is an arterial
element as well, although I actually picked up a good Doppler signal
from both the dorsalis pedis and the posterior tibial arteries. But I
was unable to do a good brachial pressure index because of the way
the ulcers were and the amount of pain. She had reasonable pain
control, but not as good as I would have liked. She had persistent
infections. She had a prominent allergic rash when I saw her, due to
antibiotics which she had actually told them she was allergic to; and
she was also passing frequent small amounts of urine and the
antibiotics she had been given for the urinary tract infection had
given her the rash.
