This study suggests that not all pregnant adolescents overindulge in fast foods ; however,they may fail to consume adequate milk and other dairy products. Notkin Nielsen et al. 2006 found similar results and reported that pregnant adolescent are at risk for insufficient dietary intake of nutrients that support fetal growth and development. Furthermore, based on the results of this study, pregnant adolescents’ snacks often consist of junk foods; however, they may be concerned enough about their own nutritional status and the well-being of their babies to eat several meals aday and avoid bingeing or skipping meals.
