As business become increasingly confident regarding the future they are likely to plan for and deliver an increase in supply. For example, a firm producing household furnishings might observe a recovery in the housing market , predict this will shortly result in increased demand for its products, and therefore increase supply in anticipation of future sales. The supply curve shifts to the right (see Figure 5.2) or to the left if firms becomes loss optimistic of the future.
