The first step in conducting telephone surveys is developing a sampling strategy:
identifying who you should be interviewing, how you will obtain contact information for these
people, and how you would like to organize this population (for example, how many interviews
do you plan to conduct, and of those interviews, how many should be from specific areas or
subpopulations, such as Spanish-speaking residents). You need to have a good sampling strategy
in order to obtain valuable information for your study.
