Selfing of the hybrids resulted in no seed set except for the white colour flower hybrid, which produced 3 seeds that matured to bear only white flowers. Back crossing of the interspecific hybrids to J. integerrima consistently failed with the exception of one cross with dark pink colour hybrid which produced one plant with few small sized (petal length 5 6 mm) dark pink flowers having pubescence on the petals (Figure1f). Crossing of J. curcas with dark pink colour genoflower hybrid produced plants bearing flowers with petal colours of pale green, dark pink (Figure 1g),pinkish green, green and light pink with varying intensities (Figures 1h–1j). Backcrossing of light pink flowers with J. curcas resulted in plants with green (Figure 1k) and pale green colour (Figure 1l) flowers in the ratio of 2:1; and those of white flowers gave plants with pale green, greenish white and white colour (Figure1m) flowers. Flowers were smaller in size particularly in pale green and green colour flowers (petal length 5 7–9 mm). In pink coloured types,
