I thought about what I'd seen in Morton's passport. Like
Harry Bond's, his passport had his own photograph but the
name was a false one. He'd been to Hong Kong at the same
time as Harry Bond.
It was too late to telephone the Passport Office that
evening but I asked Sergeant Baker to do it first thing the
next morning.
I got up early the next morning and drove to Scotland
Yard. It was a fine morning and I had an easy trip through
the empty streets.
