In spite of the general nature of its title, this book is concerned almost entirely with beef production in Australia. It is divided into 4 parts: Husbandry (64 pp.); Systems of production (46 pp.); Regions (121 pp.); and Improvements and future outlook (68 pp.). Of these, only Part I is of a general nature, covering the classification and world distribution of cattle, reproduction, lactation, mating, post-calving management, and disease.
