The gradual warming of the ocean has caused the loss of several essential sea animals and unusual weather patterns. If this continues the ice at either pole could start to melt faster and the sea levels would then rise, causing widespread flooding. One way to stop this happening is to conserve and replant the forests so that they may absorb the harmful carbon dioxide.
Forest Conservation
(1) Stop the cutting down of trees, especially the tropical hardwood trees such as teak and mahogany.
(2) Stop the "Slash (tree cutting) and burn" farming in forests.
(3) We can protect and restore the forests by planting new tree seedlings.
(4) We should support the "forest garden village" projects.
(5) Most forests should be declared as total conservation areas, with no hunting allowed.
