Research Design
In this study aiming to identify the effect
of progressive sentence development activities
on 5th graders’ description skills, the
quasi-experimental model was adopted and
pretest-posttest model with a control group
was used. The quasi-experimental design is
used in the cases where it is not possible to
control all variables (Buyukozturk, 2007). In
such quasi-experimental studies, a pretest and
posttest are administered to both groups, but
only the experimental group is exposed to an
intervention (Creswell, 2003).
