Catalytic Oxidation (ECO) unit at AmerenUE’s15 Sioux Plant located in St. Charles County,
Missouri.16 Powerspan proposes a three-stage process including a Dielectric Barrier Discharge
(DBD) reactor, followed by a combination ammonia scrubber and absorber unit to neutralize and
absorb the acids formed; and finally, a wet electrostatic precipitator to remove the mists and
aerosols from in the emissions. See Figure 2.
