Operating Principle and Features
The RTC-Roll conveys heat via the working fluid sealed in the roll. The RTC-Roll cools a film
or sheet through such heat conveying operation.
1) When the Chill Roll is rotating, the working fluid at the bottom of the roll will be
pressed against the inner surface of the roll outer casing by centrifugal force.
2) The working fluid will be evaporated by heat radiation from the film or sheet that is in
contact with the roll outer casing.
3) While the working fluid is evaporated, it absorbs heat from the film or sheet. As a
result, the film or sheet will cool down.
4) The evaporated working fluid will be cooled and condensed on the surface of the
cooling tubes by the cooling water flowing through the tubes. Then, the working fluid
will be pressed against the inner surface of the roll outer casing by centrifugal force
