The arc-shaped ground plan of the bridge results from the geometric demand for a harmonious connection to the existing road networks of the two urban districts. An even division into equal bearing distances of 17.20 m length allowed for a segmented prefabricated building construction with complex components with high surface quality. With a height of only 38 cm, the extremely delicate, prestressed and textile reinforced ribbed base plates are supported by slender, fastened v-shaped steel column pairs.
Because of the minimal concrete covers, the superstructure could be executed as a seven-webbed T-beam with a width of 3.20 m and a top thickness of only 9 cm minimized towards the edge. An accurate wood boarding was produced for the pre-cast components which are three-dimensionally curved by the longitudinal and cross slopes in connection with the arc-shape. The construction of the boarding required complex planning. Based on a conception with radial ribs, the boarding could finally be realized with simple, linear and planar wood components.
The geometry based on a circular arc cut-out was determined accurately with over 500 spatial coordinates per prefabricated element. The bridge distinguishes itself by delicate concrete components and excellent corrosion characteristics, which makes further covering and coating unnecessary.
