Summary
All these studies focused on the problems that arose with the technology and how the students progressed or failed, along with possible reasons for each. Some teachers think of this as an “out” for not teaching the actual material when that is not the purpose of the technology-based approach. When this happens, the teachers blame ICT for not picking up the slack and researchers are frustrated with the teachers who expect machines to completely take over their classroom (TERC, 1999). Each study also included teacher and/or researcher remarks about how and why the results were the way they were.
