At the start of the SM project, students were
asked to collect baseline data and taught how to successfully plan for behavior
change. Concurrently, students were taught SM theories and practical
applications, and were required to participate in small group activities designed
to promote exchange of student ideas. Students were instructed to record their
behavior daily. At the end of the semester, each student gave an in-class presentation
and submitted a final research report. Frequent personal feedback
from the instructor was given to each student throughout the course. Students
were also encouraged to exchange ideas with their peers and provide adequate
peer feedback during group activities.
