Malaysia is made up of 36% Chinese community, 53% Malay and 11% Indian communities.
The Constitution in its article 153 specifically allowed the yang-di-pertuan (the paramount ruler) or head of state, elected among a Malay sultans to authorize quotas for civil services, positions, scholarship and licenses for the Malays
After being granted independence, Sarawak and Sabah (North Borneo), the Federation of Malaysia was formed in August 31, 1963 grouping Malaysia, Singapore, Sarawak and Sabah ( North Borneo) with Kuala Lumpur as capital.
