Recorded Music revenues increased by $65 million to $2.924 billion for the twelve month ended September 30,2005, compared to $2.859 billion for the twelve months ended September 30,2004[Duhigg,C.(2006)].
Recorded Music revenues represented approximately 83 percent of consolidated revenues for the twelve months ended September 30, 2005 and 2004.
The increase in Recorded Music revenue was primarily due to the increase in digital sales of S105 million to $137 million in the twelve months ended September 30, 2005.The increase in revenues from the sale of music in digital formats related to the development and increased consumer usage of legal, online distribution channels for the music industry or the twelve months ended September 30, 2005, digital sales increased to 5 percent c ecorded Music revenues.
