The median age was 58 (35–74) years. All the patients had their aneurysm secured within 34h after arrival to our hospital (median five hours). Approximately 11% of the patients required the insertion of a ventriculo-peritoneal shunt during the primary stay (27% received a shunt at any given point of time after aSAH).The characteristics of the good- and poor- grade patients according to the WFNS scores are presented in Table 2. There was a higher fraction of females in the poor grade patients, alongside with higher age and a shorter time to securing the aneurysm, however, none of these differences reached the statistical significance.
