When the viscosity of mixed solution was suitable for coating,
the prepared stainless steel wire was inserted into the solution and
kept for 2 min. Then the stainless steel wire was pulled out and an
even coating was observed on its surface. The procedure was
repeated for several times in order to get appropriate thickness,
before the prepared
fibers was conditioned at 80 C for curing. The
desired thickness was approximately 50 mm which can meet the
requirements of operations, since the coating might be scraped by
the outer tube wall if the coating was too thick and the extraction
efficiencies were not satisfactory if the coating was too thin. After
the procedure of curing, the preliminary observation of the
thickness was conducted by the optical microscope, while the
exact thickness of the coating was measured by the scanning
electron microscopy (SEM). The thickness for most of the prepared
fibers was approximate 40 mm.

fiber was assembled into the tube of commercial
devices (Supelco, Bellefonte, PA) and conditioned at 100, 150,
200 and 250 C for 30 min to remove the residual solvent in the
prepared coating.
