2.7. In vitro testing of TFs antioxidant activity
2.7.1. DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging assay
The scavenging activities of the DPPH and ABTS free radicals
were determined using methods described by Marwah et al.
(2007) and Ozgen, Reese, Tulio, Scheerens, and Miller (2006),
respectively. The radical scavenging activity (RSA) was calculated
using the equation: RSA (%) = (1 A/A0) 100 (where A0 is the
absorbance of the control, and A is the absorbance of test sample).
Ascorbic acid and BHT with the same concentrations as the samples
were used as positive control.
