Wood Packaging Material (WPM) Regulations to Brazil
We would like to inform that starting February 1st, 2016 Brazilian Agricultures Ministry (MAPA)
Will start enforcing the ISPM-15 requirements regarding Wood Packaging Material (WPM) per
MAPA BRAZILIAN NORMATIVE INSTRUCTION 32/2015.
As per International Phytosanitary Measures Standard (ISPM-15), of which Brazil is signatory, all
wooden packing must bear the IPPC stamp and/or have a Wood Treatment Certificate.
In order to comply with Brazilian Agricultures Ministry, The Shipping Instruction (S.I.) to Shipco
Transport, for every shipment Please indicated one of these on your Shipping Instruction due to
this information has to be manifested to Brazilian Customs Systems.
• Wooden package: Not Applicable (in case there is absolutely no wooden in any packing)
• Wooden package: Not Treated and not certified
• Wooden package: Treated and certified (please indicate one of the methods utilized below)
• Wooden package: Processed
Treatment Code Phytosanitary Treatmentfor quarantine purpose
HT Heat Treatment - Conventional thermal treatment
DH Dielectric Heating - Heat treatment, by means of dielectric with use of microwave
MB Methyl Bromide - Fumigation with Methyl Bromide
