Deadlines will be mapped out at different intervals on a timeline and indicate when a certain task is due. Deadlines may be issued without a timeline, in this case, it is your responsibility to map out your own schedule and work out the most effective way for you to deliver. In the workforce, deadlines are crucial to the productivity of a business. If you are requested to process data that will contribute to a company’s annual report, your data may affect management (which has to approve your work), designers (who may use that information in the way they present the report), printers (who produce the material) and the public (who are interested in or waiting on this information).
If you can’t meet a deadline, give everyone—particularly your manager—lots of warning.
