As observed in Fig. 3, the particle size was rather homo-geneous indicating an adequate mixing, regardless of mPEO content. This was despite the large viscosity difference between the two phases of the blends, that is a consequence of the large Tgdifference between the components of the blends. As also observed in Fig. 3, the blends showed a fine dispersed particle size (mostly below 1.0 lm) that is
collected in Table 1. As can be seen in Table 1, the dispersed particle size increased monotonously with rubber content from approximately 0.35 lm in the 2.5% mPEO blend (Fig. 3a) to roughly 1.0 lm in the 15% mPEO blend. In the case of the 80/20 blend the increase in the particle size was higher due to the presence of some coalesced particles.
