No large scale investigations have examined the
relation between blood pressure, severity of apnoea, and
various confounding factors in patients attending sleep
clinics. These patients generally present with more
severe forms of sleep related breathing disorders and
more confounding variables than the general population,
and therefore may be expected to show a different
relation between apnoeic events and blood pressure. We
investigated these relations in a large population of
patients with sleep disorders attending a clinic.
