Though translated as “oyster omelet,” hoy tod is not the eggy, cheesy breakfast omelet, it’s more like a savory, crispy pancake topped with plump oysters. Nai Mong’s street-side food shop may have zero ambiance (you’re eating off of pale pink plastic plates, stools and metal tables) but the hoy tod is superb – a mix of unique and delicious flavors and textures. You can order it soft (nim), but we prefer it crispy (grob) to taste the contrast of crunchy pancake and soft oyster.
