Results of the intervention period study
Table V summarizes the mean scores provided by hourly workers from all 21 shop
areas in regard to their first-line supervisors for each of the elements of
transformational leadership; the aggregated measure of transformational leadership;
and contingent reward leadership behaviors. The outcome measures of job and
supervisor satisfaction also are included in the table.
With almost the entire population of production associates surveyed in both the
base-line and follow-up studies (92.7 and 96.3 percent), t-tests were run to determine the
extent to which variables of interest had changed between the time of the base-line and
