The PMPQ model evaluates the overall extent of use of project planning processes. It is
based on the processes to be performed by a project manager during the planning
phase of a project. The model analyses project planning processes as defined in the
PMBOK (PMI Standards Committee, 2004). The PMBOK was chosen as the main body
of knowledge for the PMPQ model for the following reasons:
. recognised as a standard by the American National Standard Institute;
. continuously updated by project management practitioners;
. used by many large organisations all around the world; and
. many studies have used this body of knowledge.
