Once upon a time, there was a young man who was an orphan. His name was Gajitpae. He was a stupid man with good heart. He lived with his grandmother who was very poor since he was a little boy. Because of his stupidity, his friends always fooled him and took advantage of him.
One day, the friends persuaded Gajilpae to catch fish at the swamp near the village. They planned to fool him again by having him lay down on the watery ground to prevent the water from flowing in. After his friends took water out, they caught all the fish and let Gajilpae stand up and for his turn to catch the fish. However, when he stood up, the water flowed. The innocent man tried to catch the fish but was very hard to find one. It took him quite a long time to catch a very small fish. He decided to take the alive fish back home feeding it every day without knowing that the fish was the magic fish. This fish was gradually grown up and looked like a naga. One day the naga fish talked to him.
“ Please take me to the swamp, I will fight with the other fish under the water world and get you the possessions.”
Gajilpae was astonished to hear the fish talking. He could not believe it so he asked.
“ Really,or are you kidding?”
The fish replied firmly.
“ Yes, of course I will surely do as I told you but you have to do as I am going to tell you.”
“ Tell me then.” The young man added.
“ When I' m under the water, you must be calm. Don’t say any word or react to whatever you hear and see.” The fish explained.
“ Yes, I will do as you tell me.” Gajilpae replied.
The next day, Gajilpae rode on the fish back to the swamp. When they arrived the fish told him to wait at the bank of the swamp and did not forget to address what he told him to do and it dived down the water.
Not long after, he saw a big wave rolling upon the swamp surface. The strong earthquake was felt everywhere together with the fierce sound of the thunder and lightning. Still, Gagilpae did not move or say any word. He waited until the fish appeared near the place where he was waiting. Everything became normal when the magic fish came back with valuable glorious things. The fish took Gagilpae back home and he became a millionaire soon after. When one of the friends who took advantages of him knew about this, he felt jealous of Gagilpae and wanted to be like him. The jealous man came to meet him and asked what he had done to get such a lot of possession. Gajilpae who was always innocent told him all the truth. The friend did not hesitate to borrow the magic fish. Gagilpae let him take the fish. The friend rode the fish to the swamp. When they arrived at the swamp, the fish told the man as he once told Gagilpae that he must stay calm and must not say any word or react to anything he saw. The man promised to do as he was told. However, not long after the fish came down the water ground, the big wave appeared, the earthquake struck and the thunder roared angrily together with the lightning, the man screamed loudly for help. Not long after, the fish appeared with its bloody wounds and died. The man got nothing back home.
