In the last decade, special attention has been paid to food in tourism
as well as food tourism because of its significant values and contributions
to the destination in many aspects, like economic impact. Tourism
is composed of many components, such as entertainment, sightseeing, food,
accommodation, experience, transportation, and more. Particularly, food is
considered one of the most important components in tourism. According
to Quan and Wang (2004), food consumption should be considered a
primary activity, attraction, and peak experience that motivate tourists to
travel because tourists’ food consumption is one of the major activities and
expenditures of tourists at a destination. The interests in food tourism and
its overall impact on tourism have accelerated the study of food tourist’s
behavior.
