Fig. 3 shows the potential gains for the travelled time, total time, total travelled distance and fuel consumption with the optimization of the system under study. As it can be seen, the time spent by vehicles in travelling to collect glass-waste could be reduced by around 32% and 59% optimizing for distance and for time, respectively. In turn, the total travelled distance may decrease around 25% for the both optimization scenarios. This reinforces the more effective results when optimizing routes for time.
