Other companies are beginning to explore strategies for satisfying corporate goals while simultaneously maintaining the ecology that serves as the foundation for their industry. As another example, the travel industry does not appear to be dependent on the environment in anyway. After all, travel agencies and hotel chains are service providers that do not have to concern themselves with sources of raw materials. The problem with this perspective is that it undermines the importance that nature's beauty plays in tourism. Marriott is currently considering a program to curb deforestation in the Amazon. This plan is not part of some radical effort by Marriott to open new locations in a remote rainforest; rather, it deals with the company's attempt to address global warning, which impacts nature across the globe.
