Koh Taen is a natural paradise located off the south-western coast of Koh Samui´s Taling Nam fishing village. There is just one small village on Koh Taen, with very limited tourist facilities, such as five humble bungalows and an authentic Thai restaurant. There are only approximately 30 people who earn their main livelihood from fishing who populate the island. The island is roughly triangular in shape. Topographically, the island has 3 distinct hills: Khao Kiam, at the south of the island, is its highest at 218 M above sea level. It is covered with a lush evergreen forest.
