It has been my experience dealing with SGI that where the breach falls under the authorized to drive condition and the cause of the breach is a failure to renew an operator's license, SGI will be quite sympathetic to the insured and may well grant coverage. This will depend on a number of factors particularly the length of time since the operator's license expired. All of these facts should be gathered from your client on the initial interview to allow you to approach SGI at the earliest opportunity explaining the failure to renew and seeking assistance from them pursuant to the Ex Gratia provisions.
