2) The current output stations are a vital link in each
closed loop. A lot is to be desired in the present designs.
They are quite susceptible to drift and component failures.
3) Even though computer components are a small portion
of the total installation costs, it is highly desirable to
see lower cost peripheral gear like card reader and printer.
4) Program changes and modifications are a way of life
in the early days of system installation. It is highly desirable
to have a time-sharing system so that programs
can be assembled on line.
5) It is nice to be able to program in a compiler level
language like FORTRAN, but the core becomes a problem.
It is necessary to be able to expand the core and utilize it
more economically.
6) A wide preinstallation discussion and presentations of
comrputer control were found very helpful in getting the
system accepted. On-site on-line operator training was
found quite adequate.
