So I am guessing the reasoning why the wedding rings and his reject death didnt trigger was because he died too fast but ... how does that make any sense? Was this ever explained in the skill description that you have to die slowly for the items/skills to work or did that just pop out of nowhere to allow Ray Bard to win. At least when he died on sacred ground it made more sense that reject death would not activate this time it was just kind of complete B.S. In other news why was he acting like he was a dumb NPC boss and targetting a tank instead of going for support/healers/squishies? He had an absolute speed advantage but he didnt use it to hit and run and probably take out squishies in 2-3 hits? It just seems so ridiculous for him to focus on the highest level, best geared, and tanky class with all the other options available. I mean if he was going to go all stupid mono-el-mono vs a higher level knight you would have thought he would at least change to Ice Troll to increase his fighting stats. Also if he had mana would have been nice to see him use stoneskin ... he keeps using the whole "close your eyes in middle of combat" but never stoneskin. I mean it costs probably a decent chunk of mana but if he just turns it on for a split second of impact it probably wouldnt be more than ~100.

to the wedding rings, as I understood to activate their ability the other one has to agree to this before it takes effect (and perhaps even requested beforehand, but there i m not sure). so if seyoun does respond to slow, in that case perhaps not immediately, the ability will not work. and with becoming undead, wasnt it only a chance of becoming undead? as I recal there was a percentage chance of becoming undead for him, that´s why I even wondered how he managed it so often before :D the thing about attacking the squishys is already answered. I also wondered why he dont use stoneskin in the volumes 20+. my explanation was that he doesnt want the slowing effect for his moves, because he gets a speed penalty to his attacks and movement speed when he uses that skin (only logical by becoming stone xD ).
----------------------------------------------------
One of the reasons reject death didn't activate was because he was bombarded by holy spells. The reason why he didnt go for the squishies was because what was said above and also he went after the dragon so it could cause more mayhem and kill as many of the guild as possible. He was looking for a way to escape and survive against a whole army, but didn't manage in the end.
-----------------------
As for why Reject Death and the Wedding Ring bonuses didn't apply, those are explained explicitly in the volume. Reject death has a 100% base chance of triggering on death, with penalties and bonuses applied based on the method and location of death. Because he was cursed and bound by holy magic, his low level of reject death wasn't enough to overcome the penalty of necromancy against holy magic and so he failed to become undead. Thought of another way, his body was sanctified and purified by the holy spells, making undeath impossible at his current level of unholy corruption. As for why the Wedding Rings didn't apply, it's because the option to share life is only available if the user falls below a certain percentage of life. The problem was that Weed was so incapacitated by the magic and stun effects from Ray's support that the last hit had so many bonuses to damage he went from 'too high' to 'zero' in one strike.
As for the fight itself...I too thought he should've focused on the healers and let the boss whittle everyone down without that support. However, something we don't consider is this is set in a true VR game and can't be thought of using current game mechanics. That sort of train of thought is like saying "fighting an army is easy, just ignore the soldiers and attack the officers". In practice its a little bit harder than that. In theory his agility was so high he could've run circles around everyone on the ceiling and taken pot shots at the squishies. In practice he tried to make a decisive blow from a surprise attack, but several things took place. His opponents were high level and had good gear so he had to waste time and couldn't finish it quickly enough, the group is well coordinated so they were able to react to the surprise attack very quickly, and he suffered a loss of reputation and stats due to 'dishonorable actions'. The tank characters quickly blocked off his access to the squishies and the priests delegated some people to keeping everyone he was able to hit up. It was a war of attrition, but with so many targets he wasn't doing enough damage to punch through when they could just rotate out and get healed up again as he took fire from archers and magi as well. Then Ray Bard shows up and two things change. One, he engages in combat with a high enough opponent with full support behind him so he closes in to cut off the ranged component of the fight as they hold fire to avoid hitting Ray Bard. Two, he's presented with an all or nothing gamble to cripple the guild as defeating Ray Bard would make him fail that portion of his quest and set him back significantly. As long as Ray Bard is alive and defeats the monster, he advances his master quest line, but taking him out means he'll have to either redo or do something else. Then things go to crap and he gets bound up by spells and gets the crap beaten out of him.
As for why he couldn't turn into an Ice Troll? No statue (damn thing is too big to carry around) and I doubt the Hermes guild is going to wait patiently while he makes one. Also, from what I remember the place was pretty hot so using a cold type creature would've been bad anyways. Weed then goes through the list of his abilities and vetoes each one as they are either impractical for the cost/benefit or unavailable as he does not have the time and resources to prepare them. He mentioned that if he had a sculpture of a volcano it would've been perfect, but sadly did not prepare one ahead of time. As for why no stone skin? Stone skin applies a penalty to agility and ability cost in addition to those benefits in damage reduction. There is also the constant mana drain and mana cost to consider as well. Since Weed is not a combat orientated class, his abilities all have high cost and high reward making them mana intensive to use. He also is an agility type player who focuses more on dodging the enemy attack than soaking it up with heavy and slow armor. That means cold eyes (which costs nothing to use and can be employed anytime with no penalty) is more effective for him than stone skin (which slows him down and makes his abilities cost more).
