Case history 12 Michael Oliver, a 41 year old accountant in good health, attended a 'well man' clinic at his GP surgery. A tory of heart ily health history and lifestyle questionnaire revealed a family disease; his 61 year old father was currently recovering from a heart attack and his grandfather had died of "heart disease' at the age of father's recent had prompted Michael to quit smoking but he took little exercise. As part of the health screen Michael was weighed, his blood pressure was taken and blood was sampled for blood glucose and lipid screen. Body weight and blood pressure were normal.
