The ground floor of this vihara was laid with marble slabs and the upper floor was made of wooden boards. The distinct features of this vihara is focussed on its door and window panels of beautiful gilded and lacquered decoration and the stucco adornment of its niches and gables with glass inlaid surounding the royal monogram “S.P.” of Queen Saowabha Phongsri, the consort of King Chulalongkorn, who built this building in 1892, in accordance with the will of her husband king to serve as the Buddhist library known at that time as “Ho Buddhasasanasangraha”
