Results
A total of 13 coaches were asked about the
problems of communication between coaches
and players. Five coaches (38.6 per cent)
considered as a main problem the external
factor. When we say external factor, we mean
the noise, which is caused in the field of the
game, the fans, the opponents and the
whistles of the referees.
Four coaches (30.77 per cent) considered
language the main communicational problem.
Language refers to the variety of origins of the
basketball players and to the different
languages they speak.
Three coaches (23.07 per cent) considered
as a main problem the limited time. When we say limited time, we mean the time space of
the half-time breaks, the time outs, the extratime
periods, when the athletes do not have
enough time to carry out their messages as
they wish.
One coach (7.7 per cent) considered as a
main problem the ability of perception. By the
term ability of perception we mean the
different way that each young athlete accepts
and decodes the messages.
Negative mood and emotional condition
were not considered as a main problem in
their communication with the athletes.
Figure 1 depicts the answers of professional
basketball players, concerning what they
consider as the most important problem in
their communication with the athletes.
