tourism might be a more useful term to describe the phenomenon. However, for the
purpose of this paper, the term film tourism is chosen, primarily for the reason that the
majority of case studies investigated in the analysis here are major films from the small
and big screen. Furthermore, the discussion not only includes aspects of tourism
induced by film release, but also impacts on planning implications during the filming,
thus incorporating film business tourism.
