Research conducted within a rational judgment tradition tends to focus on
decision biases. According to this perspective, the obvious way to improve decision
quality is to ensure that the decision maker conducts a full information search and
systematically evaluates all decision alternatives. However, a large body of research
conducted across a range of decision contexts demonstrates that people rarely use
this type of approach and that training programs designed to counteract decision
