6.6 During each inspection for failures, the bottles remaining in test may be moved in a random manner to new positions in the oven to eliminate any effect due to a static oven temperature profile, if one does exist.
6.7 Continue exposure of non-failures until all fail, or to a maximum of 28 days. Remove the remaining samples from the oven and allow to cool. Safely discard contents of bottle and carefully dissect the sample to examine the inside surface of the base for evidence of crack initiation (Fig. 03).
6.8 Record the number of containers that have leaked and showed evidence of crack initiation. The entire group of test bottles shall be retained for 30 days following the conclusion of the test to allow for evaluation by the subject matter expert or project manager.
