Dengue fever (DF) and its severe complications, dengue hemorrhagic
fever (DHF) and dengue shock syndrome (DSS), are among
the most important re-emerging infectious diseases globally
(Laughlin et al., 2012). These vector-borne diseases are transmitted
mainly by Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae). This mosquito species
is day-biting, highly anthropophilic and endophilic in behavior, and
is more often found in urban and sub-urban habitats where females
oviposit mainly indoors (Guha et al., 2012)
