It is noticeable that pressure of 0.67 GPa used in experiment for wt RNase A, is one of the highest value reported in high pressure macromolecular crystallographic experiments so far.
The highest value used in hp crystallographic measurements was equal1.39 GPa, however the experiment refers to small fragment of DNA, with molecular weight of 2.4 kDa [46].
Fourme and co-workers published the results for hen egg-white lysozyme crystal compressed up to 0.82 GPa [8], nevertheless neither atomic coordinates nor neither detailed analysis of high pressure HEWL structure were published. The latest results obtained also for HEWL concern the set of high pressure crystal structures determined at wide range
of pressure 0.01–0.95 GPa [54] and proved crystal-to-crystal phase transition in a protein crystal.
