The same extracts obtained from total phenolic compounds
(1 ml) were used to evaluate the reducing power of the samples
according to the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power method
(Pulido, Bravo, & Saura-Calixto, 2000). Increases in absorbance
due to the formation of a coloured TPTZ–Fe2+ complex were
monitored at 595 nm in a UV/Vis Perkin–Elmer Lambda EZ210
spectrophotometer. A Trolox reference curve was used.
