The flexural strength of SM6 membranes was observed as 2 MPa at 850 C using ASTM standard test (ASTM D790) without any binder. As the number of contact between the particles as well as the specific surface were reduced due to higher particle size and absence of binder, the flexural strength of the solid ceramics was less compared to the reported value of kaolin based membrane having two different binders in their composition[5].
